GYM RULES
1. Have a good time and encourage your fellow athletes
Come in with a positive attitude and ready to give it everything you have got for that day. Tell the person next to you that they are killing it, scream and yell, make noise and let people know that this is where we come to crush WOD’S! Encourage one another, push your fellow athlete so they can finish the WOD or even hit a PR. “This is a we thing – we do this together – this is a lifestyle.”
2. Be punctual or even early
Be early to get stretched and warmed up, we are athletes and need to make sure we are well prepared both physically and mentally before each workout. Being on time is courteous to your fellow members and the coaches. If you are late it will be up to the coach if you can participate in the WOD that day.
3. Be friendly
Introduce yourself to people you may not know. Reach out to your fellow athletes, we are all striving for excellence together.
4. No cursing
Have some self-control. No budging here, if you curse you’ve got 20 burpees coming. Don’t argue, you’ve been fore-warned.
5. Have some common sense
Be safe, be aware of others around you and your own personal surroundings. Do not perform movements or workouts if you have not had proper coaching first. Do not push yourself to the point where you get injured, you know your body, the last thing you want is to be out with an injury.
6. Check the ego at the door
This is the Sport of Fitness and we are here to get better, to make strides, to become more well rounded athletes. Your times, range of motion, technique, rounds and other measurement factors will speak for themselves, there is no need for an ego up in here!
7. Register online for each training session
You must register for each class each day online. The reason for registration to avoid overcrowding, keep the coach to athlete ratio in balance to make sure you as the client are getting to most out of each and every session at the box. If you register but can’t make it, be sure to cancel your reservation online so that spots open up for your fellow athletes that want to train at that time slot. Late cancellation/no-show fees apply after two consecutive offenses.
8. Come early, stay late
Get here early and stay late if you can, this will make you a better athlete. CrossFit is about progress and dedication to always be learning how to perform at higher levels. You need to put in the time to make the gains.
9. Come in clean
Yes – you will sweat and get dirty, you will leave a dripping hot mess sometimes but this does not mean you roll in the box smelling dirty dirty before you even get going. Make sure you are up to par on your hygiene.
10. Coaches coach, athletes train
Please keep talking to a minimum during the times that the coaches are coaching, be respectful of their time and your fellow athletes time. Unless you are certified as a CrossFit trainer, leave the coaching to the coaches. Support one another at all times.
11. Do not cheat your workouts
You know if you threw some cheat sauce all over your workout, this does not make it taste better, this makes it taste sour. Train clean, make each WOD count and make sure your improving through correct movement, technique and mobility. The improved times, scores and rounds will come if you DON’T CHEAT!
12. Work hard
We respect hard work, period. No matter how much you need to scale down your workout or how long it takes you, as long as you are pushing hard to redefine your limits, you have earned everyone’s respect. Remember we want to see this progression in your fitness:
1st Priority: Full ROM (range of motion)
2nd Priority: Rx’d counts of reps and distance
3rd Priority: Rx’d movements
4th Priority: Living the Rx’d lifestyle
Stay focused, eat clean, train mean and come into the box every day giving it all you have and we will support you in every way possible to attain your fitness goals.
