These classes happen every Monday evening at 6:00pm unless there is a holiday or unforeseen change in schedule. The remainder of the week includes access to all scheduled open WOD (workout of the day) classes so you can apply what you have learned and get the full CrossFit experience. The price of our intro program is $50 , this is a great value and required for all individuals that do not have prior CrossFit experience. The $50 will be applied to your first months membership!

This  one week experience is designed as  an introductory course on CrossFit’s methodology, concepts, and movements. We will cover what CrossFit is all about, as well as some of the fundamental movements within CrossFit.  It will be a great opportunity for you to explore how to get the fastest and most productive results from a fitness program. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability – making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience or level of fitness. All CrossFit gyms are independently owned and operated, usually by individuals or small partnerships.  Each has its own unique culture and spin on how to implement the CrossFit methodology, but for the most part we all believe in three definitive characteristics that are central to CrossFit:

Constantly varied – we use a constant variety of movements, combinations of movements, duration of work, frequency, etc. “Varied” does NOT mean random. All of our training is carefully planned variety with the aim of optimizing your fitness.

High-intensity – We define high-intensity simply as, more “work” in less time. We define “work” in physics terms: moving a load over a given distance.  The level of intensity can be determined with a simple mathematical formula: Load x Distance ÷ Time = Level of Intensity. The Level of Intensity is increased by increasing the load or the distance, or by decreasing the time it takes to move the load over a given distance. This formula can be applied to all movements including moving the load of your own body weight; e.g. standing up from a chair is “work”; standing up from a chair while holding a baby is more work and more “intensity” because the load increased while the distance and time stayed the same.  Perceived intensity is relative to the ability of the individual – we will help you find the level of intensity that is appropriate for you.

Functional movement – fundamental, innate, natural movement patterns; e.g. walking, running, sitting down, standing up, squatting, jumping, pulling, pushing, throwing, climbing, picking things up off the ground, carrying things, etc.).  Functional movements are by definition the most efficient way to move your body or an external load to perform work.  These movements are the basis of all of our training.  You won’t see bizarre infomercial contraptions and high-tech “fitness” machinery with seat belts, headrests and video screens in our gym.

Priorities for all CrossFitters

  • 1st Priority – Strive for full range of motion
  • 2nd Priority – Strive for the prescribed count of reps or distances
  • 3rd Priority – Strive for prescribed (not scaled down) movements
  • 4th Priority – Strive for prescribed (not scaled down) weights

Our main priority at CrossFit idoG is that you perform the movements properly, that you understand the importance of not cutting corners and you strive for personal excellence. Each individual is different and is at a different level of fitness, with this in mind you must understand that scaling movements and weight until you can perform the movements as prescribed is critical to ensure you make progress within the sport of CrossFit. We will work with each individual to set and achieve goals, to grow as an athlete and to create an environment of progress within your fitness life.
